Merilee's Wall

Two dry stone terraced walls and a rock fence replace what was once a single mortared stone wall that was pushing over and on the verge of collapse.

When building on a hillside or slope, drainage is of utmost importance. That's what makes dry stone construction so well suited to this application. Without mortar, the entire wall drains freely. Water doesn't back up behind it. It also has a degree of flexibility, and is unaffected by frost. It also naturalizes well, and creates a great backdrop for your plantings.

To continue with the customers existing planting we added more Pachysandra, which we complemented with Soloman's Seal (Polygonatum), and native ferns.
